The author, Virginia, tells in the book details about her life during and after her relationship with Escobar.

There are many interesting things in the book that the former Colombian journalist says about the way of life, thinking and operation of the richest people in Colombia at the time, whether they were mobsters or not, but also about herself.

The journalist begins with the first meeting between her and Escobar, with the first exchange of glances and the first reactions of the famous South American billionaire when she first meets Virginia, the author of the book, and one of the former famous television stars in her country.

Between Pablo Escobar and Virginia, begin an idyll both pleasant and dangerous for her.

Virginia is fascinated by the wealth, strength and personality of this  man from the bottom, but who in just a few years has managed to make a huge fortune from drug trafficking.

Escobar impresses her at first not so much with his fabulous fortune but with his character.

Escobar saves her life at one point by drowning her when she was swimming in the sea and was swept away by a current.

She is impressed by this macho drug dealer, his physical and intellectual abilities and power.

As the relationship unfolds, even though Pablo Escobar was married, the true personalities of the two come to light.

Virginia, an intelligent, beautiful, cultured woman, and a television star, makes Escobar have deep feelings for her.

At one point Escobar invites Virginia to take part in an impromptu show with one of his special machines, which was equipped with all sorts of weapons against the pursuers.

When Virginia and the drivers in the car playing the role of the pursuers and they are sprayed with tear gas, Virginia doesn’t complain about the tear gas at all, while the male passengers, Pablo’s men, behave like women, coughing, and looking for water. Virginia scolds them for behaving like “women.” Pablo sees this and is impressed by her courage and strength.

Later, the two will help each other in their careers, as a journalist and as a drug dealer. Virginia gives him a place in her TV show, because he wanted to assert herself in politics, and Escobar helps her with money, financing the station.

The connection between the two is getting stronger and stronger. They live dream moments specific to lovers. Pablo Escobar confesses to her that she is the only woman he truly loves and respects.

This journalist Virginia was the only one who understood him as he really was. Virginia advises Pablo Escobar to calm down in his criminal activities. The latter, on the other hand, he is becoming more and more violent, plotting assassinations and attacks on enemies and rivals.

Escobar can no longer hide the origin of his fortune and his past and things are becoming more and more obvious to everyone, as well as to the authorities, who were also corrupt.

Virginia is beginning to lose her career as a journalist as a result of her relationship with Escobar, who was no longer well-regarded, and who was respected by one side of society but hated by another.

It is also worth mentioning the well-known attacks on the House of Justice and the destruction of a plane in flight with a bomb.

Pablo and his criminal organization had killed hundreds of people, including innocent people.

The death of many people and Escobar’s cruelty make Virginia want to move away from this man. Her decision to break up comes from the fact that she is starting to be more and more despised by those who once loved her, because of her relationship with this monster.

She loses her job and finds it increasingly difficult to cope with the threats from her enemies in her relationship with Pablo.

Life begins to get complicated for Escobar, the relationship between the two lovers begins to break down. So at some point Pablo begins to be hunted by the authorities and is killed and for Virginia life becomes a nightmare.

Many films have been made about Pablo Escobar’s life and a lot of ink has been consumed.

This book it’s word to be readed.
