More and more young people are starting to earn money just in front of a laptop from the confort of their own home. Some even manage to arouse the envy of those who work for the government or who have a regular office-type job for big companies.
Here we are living in the year 2023 and it seems that it is possible to work from home and earn a lot of money doing that. There are several methods, all perfectly valid. Some are related to entrepreneurship and others involve working for someone, for an employer.
#1 Remote jobs
At the moment there are many jobs on the job sites that are remote jobs and do not involve working in an office, maybe just that from your home. These jobs are legal, you still work for an employer, you are paid, but you work from home.
For that, however, you may need some degrees and qualifications, or experience and a CV that counts for the employer. However, the benefits may be greater.
#2 UpWork
Freelance jobs, micro jobs, and freelance work in general on freelancing sites like UpWork or Freelancer. com requires solid knowledge of the field you intend to work in even if you are just starting out. If you are good at writing but very good at WordPress, you should choose to work in the WordPress field.
You don’t want to have negative Feedback from your first job because not many people will hire you after that. So, if you decide to become a freelancer on one of the Freelancing sites, know that feedback matters a lot.
So, make sure you find clients who give good feedback and that you know exactly what to do if you’ve applied for a job. And if you can help the client with something extra… a microtask, do it, and you will receive better feedback.
#3 Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is more attractive but it is harder. Basically, here you are responsible for everything and it is not true that, as a boss, you just give orders left and right to your subordinates.
As an entrepreneur, everything breaks in your head and there may be times when you simply despair, but you have to keep going and don’t give up, because somewhere, if you keep working, you will see the end.
Entrepreneurship can mean many activities that are coordinated by you, that depend on you. That can even be a simple blog that launches a learning service, for example, up to an online store with organic products, an app. and the examples can go on.
Pro and cons
No matter how you decide to make money from home, you have to know that there are both benefits and downsides. First of all, if you have children or live in a space that is noisy it might make your work harder or impossible.
The benefits would be that you don’t have to waste time commuting to work. And as an entrepreneur or freelancer you can work as late as you want and wake up when you want.
