Selling digital products is among the most profitable businesses. They do not require a physical stock and can practically be sold indefinitely. What products can I sell? you might ask. Well, you should first know that any product you want to sell must be useful to someone, somehow, or provide entertainment.
It can be a vector image for example for a potential client to use for a logo or to create a t-shirt if they can’t create a design themselves. He will choose your vector image if he thinks it is suitable.
Vector images are just an example. You can create courses, tutorial videos or intros, jingles, etc. You can write books to sell on your website, or on Amazon.
To give you an idea of how big the market is for digital goods, which in our digital age have become more and more sought after, being necessary from one point of view or another, I will tell you a story below.
In 2015, I created some vector images representing silhouettes of people, black and white, using Photoshop and Illustrator. I put the images for free on the website of Pixabay so that they can be downloaded from there by those who are looking for a certain type of image, the kind that I have offered them. The website of Pixabay also offers the possibility for those who upload their free images to receive donations from those who use them, if they want to donate.
In a few months, I made thousands of downloads and they were not the most professional images, since I am a novice in graphic design. However, more than 10,000 people have downloaded and used them. 10,000 people is almost the population of a city.
Donations were also made, not much but they were made. Probably if I invested more time in creating images, be they vector or otherwise, and put them on Pixabay or Splash, I would make thousands of euros, money from donations, non-taxable, because money from donations is not taxed.
What can you sell?
Your books
You can write a book or a series of books that will bring added value to the person who buys it, or be indispensable for some. Or it can provide entertainment. The book you write can bring you recurring income. You can sell it right from your website or on sites like Amazon. The book can be on any subject. It can be a short story, a book of poems, a personal finance book, etc.
Your vector images
You can create silhouettes, logos, designs, or any type of image that can be useful to someone, like the ones I created, and put them on Pixabay for download, and the user, if he wants to reward, he may donate a certain amount of money to you, right as a sign of gratitude.
If you are good at photography, you can upload your photos to sites like Gettyimages or Shutterstock. There you can sell them against cost. Those on those sites will keep a commission and the rest of the money will be yours.
Videos
Videos are another means by which you can support yourself or even make a large amount of money. Whether you upload them to YouTube or put them on sites like Shutterstock, you can make a ton of money just from creating videos of various types.
Courses
You can sell courses on sites like Udemy. You can create various courses starting from learning programming languages, video editing, creating apps, copywriting and any skill that can be learned online. If you have extensive knowledge in a field and you structure the course well (it doesn’t have to be perfect in any case), you can be successful, and you can make a lot of money.
Try selling digital goods too if you want to make money online! It starts with the creation of the first product which can also be a simple photo! Then upload it to one of the sites I wrote about above! Success! And don’t forget…everything starts with the first step!
