How to take photos and succed as a photographer

To sell photos you need to know where to sell them and how to make them good enough to sell. For a photo to be worth buying, it must be of high quality both from a technical and creative point of view. Below are five tips on how to create photography that sells well.

#1 Light

The first thing that affects the quality of the photo for better or worse is the light. The light during photo sessions does not only affect her from a technical point of view but (indirectly) also affects their creativity. First of all, for your camera to offer the best results (that are precise and focused) you must have a good light source. The best light was and is natural light because it makes the photos look professional and quality. To get good results, pay attention to the time of day when you take the photos. The best results are obtained in the morning. A studio with artificial light can be a good alternative. But make sure you position the light in such a way that you have some good shadows. For better expression in photos, you can play with shadows and lights until you get an interesting shade.

#2 Tell a story with your photo

Photos that tell a story are often top sellers or top sellers for a product or service. This means that your photo must be able to make the viewer think about what they see for more than two seconds. Choose interesting subjects to get the viewer’s attention and make sure the photo is not cluttered. Distraction in the frame moves the focus away from the subject, which lowers the quality of the photo. Try to keep the background as tidy as possible so that the focus is on the main subject.

#3 Experiment with perspectives

The eye-level perspective won’t always sell the best. Try experimenting by positioning the camera at different angles. Shoot from below, above, or from the side. Different perspectives can make the subject look more interesting and artistic and the photo more original.

#4 Find a niche

See what you enjoy shooting the most and stick with it. Consistency is important and helps your portfolio. A portfolio with a specific theme looks much better. A portfolio with completely different images instead looks cluttered and dirty. For example, if you do portraits, you can’t put photos of forests or sunsets in your portfolio.

#5 Editing

Last but not least is editing. Post-editing is meant to make some changes that can make the photo more interesting and enjoyable for potential buyers. Use your photo editor to make your photo more interesting and artistic. However, don’t abuse filters and effects in such a way that you make the photo look artificial. The most recommended program for editing is Lightroom.
