How to write a perfect article (SEO)

In this article we will see how to write a blog or press article that will get to the top of the results list, in searches on Google or other search engines. That means writing for both Google and your readers. That is, write for readers as Google recommends and wants.

If you meet the technical conditions required by Google when writing, it will reward you with first place or even the first place. We will see more about how to design an article from a technical point of view, the number of words, the length of a paragraph, etc. Of course, the topic of the article and how you express yourself, organization of ideas, etc. also matter. But that’s not what we’re talking about here.

How to write an article that will be the first in Google results

How the title should be

  • It has to grab attention. First of all, we should know that the title is the most important. He must first of all attract the reader, be catchy. Readers who don’t know you will first find your title on Google. The headline makes them decide if they want to read the article
  • It must be around 60 characters. This is one of the rules of SEO. That means about 10 words.
  • It must not be misled. In the article you must write what the reader expects to read by reading the title. You can’t put the title On Vacation at Grandma’s and talk about the PHP programming language. If the title indicates that you are writing about a certain topic, then that is what you will write about.

How the article should be

Number of words

The number of words must be at least 600, to be well ranked by Google. At least that’s what it says from the SEO plugin requirement that I myself use. AISEO shows as Ok this number of words. At the end you will also see some print-screens with an SEO panel, which looks like finding the article Ok from the SEO point of view.

Of course, the number of words can vary, it also depends on the article, the topic, what you are writing about, if it is an informational or news article, if it is a how-to article, it will be longer. However, the minimum limit is 600 words. In practice, we don’t really see it being practiced, relying more on referrals from other blogs when we leave comments, on notoriety or charisma. But for Google, a minimum of 600 words is required.

Format

A paragraph should be between 100 and 200 words and sentences should be as short and concise as possible. As for headings, they should be H3 or H2 for headings and H3 for sub-headings.

Links and Media

There should be both internal and external links for good search engine ranking. This is preferable, just as it is preferable to have images or video included in the article that are related to the article.

The written content

It is important to use a passive voice and to link the ideas together, meaning that the sentences are related. The meta description is also important. The meta description is the maximum 160 characters that appear below the title in Google searches, and they can make a difference. In the meta description you can put something that will attract the reader but at the same time be relevant and not mislead the reader, writing about one thing and the content being about another.

Finally

It is important to use tools like AISEO or Yoast. These plugins make the difference. You can see what you’re doing well and what you’re not doing well, and they can indirectly improve the quality of an article by giving you the tools to design it well. For example, it shows you if a title is long enough, if something needs to be added or cut, if the sentences are linked together, and you can adjust.

We don’t just write for Google but organic traffic is also important. By organic traffic we mean readers who arrive at our blog as a result of Google searches. We cannot rely as bloggers only on word-of-mouth, as the Americans say. That is, only on advertising made by readers talking to each other offline or online on social networks.

Example of a well-designed SEO article

Below are some screenshots of what a panel looks like that indicate SEO aspects and whether or not the conditions are met for them to be OK from an SEO point of view. We see that the article got a score of 94, which is very good. The plugin used is AISEO.
